Retro Outfit 1971 Style, made 2008.

I made this outfit for a retro get-to-gether.

Long vest top with hook & eye front, patch pockets, fully lined. 

High-waisted belt with antique diamante buckle.  

Straight wide-legged pants.

Warm fabric - a brushed poly/cotton or similar.

The fabric is genuine 70s and was given to me by K.

Black with pink and purple flowers.

HINDI WEDDING OUTFIT

I love this outfit - I borrowed the sari length from S. and all it needed was straightening and hemming,
A beautiful 5 m length of metallic embroidered silk fabric from India.

I found the matching t-shirt under-top at an op shop, shortened it and took it in at the sides. 2006.

CICADA BAG

2 little Cicada Bags, 7" or about 18cm long. 
Navy fabrics, cotton & poly cotton, metal button eyes. 
1 for a gift and 1 for ebay.

Arnott's Apron

I made this useful little apron for N.  Doesn't she look cute in it, making the Christmas rum balls a few years ago.
Striped heavy cotton fabric, Arnott's fabric patch applique, bias trim.

KEEP CALM Apron

I found this new tea-towel at an op shop and decided it would be perfect to make into an apron.
I cut the corners off the tea-towel and joined those 2 triangles together to make into the pocket.  2010.

Old fashioned satin-bound flanellette matinee jacket and smocked top socks.  My small donation to charity.

Chel Curtain Caftan 1974

I made this caftan out of an old bedspread or curtains in 1974. 

Probably drafted from an Enid Gilchrist pattern book. 

Tilda's Bassinette Liner

A lovely mini-floral cotton broderie fabric with lace trim and dusty green ribbon ties for this vintage cane bassinette.  Made 2008

Cotton Shift Dress

I've been sewing for a long time.  I made this Cotton Shift Dress without using a pattern, abt 1963.

Yesterday and Today

began an Apron with Cat Applique and country puffs in country colours,

finished off Rok's Airline Carry Bags for the car-seat and pram;

Yesterday I made a pair of Calico Sleep Shorts; a pair of 100% Linen Raw-edge Cut-offs out of a pair of long pants I made years ago;

began to make a Red Pencil Skirt out of a pair of out-of-style long pants, might take a while as I need to thread the overlocker with red to finish it off properly;    

the apron is made from a Bunning's painter's drop sheet.

altered a summer dress I bought at the op shop, then wore it;

Am pleased with today's result so far - my great-auntie's hand-made apron re-worked, from a blue gingham half apron with a border of cross-stitched circus elephants, it now has a lined bib in matching op-shop fabric, with matching embroidery and tie-together neck straps.  Auntie Hilda's Apron.
