Hexagon Table Runner

K gave me these hexagons that came from a garage sale.
Some of them were already sewn together and I decided to make a quilted table runner in this odd shape.
The hexagons are hand-sewn, the backing hand-sewn on, and the runner is quilted by machine.
I gave it to Rok for her birthday this year, 2010, it really suits her depression-era G-Grandad's hand-made table.

Celtic Birdwing Pendant; Rings; Coral Tree

Silversmithing.  I made the Celtic Birdwing Pendant and rings in 2006.  I adapted the pendant design from a large bird pattern in a Celtic quilting book.  I also made and designed the simple Wide Rings using hole & circle punches.  All in stirling silver .925

The Silver Coral Tree was cast by my father Cliff c.1980.  It had never been polished as he didn't have the equipment, so he would be very pleased if he could see that I've finished it off.

Matilda's Gumnut Baby Quilt

A cot sized quilt I made for Matilda in 2008, featuring May Gibb's Gumnut Baby fabric and small 4-patches in matching scrap fabrics at the intersections of the sashings.

The back of the quilt is made from the left-over fabrics and other matching fabrics.

Machine sewn and machine quilted.  100% cotton.

BEACH TIARA

I know I've made some weird things, and this was an exercise in creativity using found objects.  The wooden tiara shape was found on the beach and some of the trims are from a beaded thong also found on the beach.
Made 2006.

Heart of Love Quilt

This large double bed patchwork quilt is based on a smaller quilt that was in an Australian Patchwork & Quilting magazine. I made it much larger, hand-dyed the matching border and it's machine sewn and quilted by me. It now has a matching wide red border and is a large queen size.

Yesterday and Today

began an Apron with Cat Applique and country puffs in country colours,

finished off Rok's Airline Carry Bags for the car-seat and pram;

Yesterday I made a pair of Calico Sleep Shorts; a pair of 100% Linen Raw-edge Cut-offs out of a pair of long pants I made years ago;

began to make a Red Pencil Skirt out of a pair of out-of-style long pants, might take a while as I need to thread the overlocker with red to finish it off properly;

the apron is made from a Bunning's painter's drop sheet.

altered a summer dress I bought at the op shop, then wore it;

Am pleased with today's result so far - my great-auntie's hand-made apron re-worked, from a blue gingham half apron with a border of cross-stitched circus elephants, it now has a lined bib in matching op-shop fabric, with matching embroidery and tie-together neck straps.  Auntie Hilda's Apron.
